Trawling

Trawling is the same technique as single trawling, but in pair trawling two vessels are used to drag the net, which is larger than in single trawling.

Shearboards as used in single trawling are unnecessary. As the vessels are connected by a rope, their position during fishing remains parallel so that a horizontal net opening is obtained. The target species fished are cod and whiting as well as flatfish species.
